What in the Heck is EECP?

What is EECP and how can it help Diabetics?

EECP stands for Enhanced External Counterpulsation. It is a non-invasive machine that uses several cuffs (similar to blood pressure cuffs). These cuffs are placed on the patient’s legs while the patient lies down, at rest. The cuffs are timed to inflate and deflate in exact rhythm with the patient’s heartbeat. The cuffs deflate as the heartbeat begins and inflate as the heartbeat ends.

The EECP therapy is done for a half hour or hour at a time. Decades of studies, many which took place in China, show incredible improvements for patients with heart diseases such as angina. The treatment is slowly gaining popularity in the US as a treatment for patients with heart disease.

Because heart disease is one of the complications resulting from Diabetes, it is thought that EECP therapy can also greatly benefit Diabetic patients. Dr. Robert Foster recently did a 12-week clinical trial using the EECP machine on people with Type-2 Diabetes. The results showed vast circulatory improvement for all participating patients, including lower blood pressure, plaque build-up and lipid panels.

Please stay tuned, as we will be placing a video interview about this study very soon.
